Stone Barn Oil on Canvas Panel This is my third painting from Creekwood Drive. Sometimes you just have to keep returning to the same place and there is nothing wrong with that as you will never and can never paint the same painting twice. I know of one painter Kevin McPherson who painted a pond behind his studio every day for a full year. Three hundred and sixty-six paintings (it was a leap year) and not one the same as another. Different times of day, rain, snow, the painter’s mood, etc. all factor into the artwork. I would like to do that with this area, but as this project is called “Impressions of Alabama” not “Impressions of Creekwood Drive”, I'll hold off on that project. The barn in this picture is made of stone, hence the title. It captures light beautifully and really would be worthy of being made into a series. |
